iDRESDEN

iDresden sound like they live in a dark room where it's permanently a cold night in November; Churning out great big heavy slabs of churning Fugazi evil. This is alt-rock at its best; full of discordant Albini-flavoured guitars and hard-edged post-rock with a generous helping of urban decay.

TIM AND SAM'S TIM AND THE SAM BAND WITH TIM AND SAM

New kids on the scene and they have made a set of beautiful instrumental tracks that sound like a crisp autumn day (in the best way possible). A bright future is looking likely - a soundtrack to a glorious summer’s day when pints are warm and England are getting thrashed at some ball game or other

THE SUNDAY INTERNATIONAL

Sunday International are the product of a drunken conversation and having previously released a track on Twisted Nerve's "Now Is The Winter..." compilation, they now release their debut single "So Calm". Disjointed and gloriously lo-fi, they prefer to use tiny practice amps, a child's megaphone and a rattling old bass drum than more conventional instrumentation. With a multi-cultural combination of band members, diversity in sound is expected and hoped for, and Sunday International take this principle to its extremes. Maybe it’s the mix of Germanic and Yorkshire influences, but this lot avoid categorisation.. What you get is a group of fluctuating components that veers from the quirky to the full on kitchen sink approach..

BAND(ism)

Carving through the ranks of miserabler-than-thou-power-chord-chugging-pub-rock bands are Band(ism). Any whiff of pretension indicated by the parenthetical name is confirmed by singer Robin Nature-Bold in a creepy Porno Whistling Bob Harris-esque drawl: "We are an audio art project, we dress in white to represent the blank canvas which then projects music. We wear masks as a ironic jab at the anonymous nature of the generic band member." Nature-Bold concludes: "Entertainment won't save you" - but it does help to make your evenings a bit more exciting

AMBER CLUB

Psychedelic rock is writ large in the grind and groove of Amber Club’s space rock epics, which provide a colourful and heavier reworking of seminal acts like The Verve fused to both Spacemen 3 and Led Zep. Singer Peter Cowap has the wired, wiry stage presence of Jim Morrison in a  band locked tight, wrestling out decibels and neatly compiled melodic symphonies. It’s got class of 2007 written all over it...

THE SHALLOW CALL

Loud. Gritty. Raucous. Snarling. Divine. The Shallow Call are a hurricane-force band, axing and grinding their way into your music collection. There isn’t anything I don’t like about them. They’ll satisfy your need for eardrum-bursting rock in a heartbeat, and you’ll love every second of it - impossibly good, so good that it almost hurts

SAY JANSFIELD

If tRANSELEMENt were the Beatles, then Autumn Burrows could be seen as Jay's own McCartney...listening to Autumn Burrows is like going to your most mild-mannered friend's house for a pick-me-up and some good advice. It's chicken soup for the indie soul --- and in crazy times like these, it's exactly what many of us need to hear

MONOMANIA

Manchester-based Monomania, had their debut record released on the same label that launched Elbow and I Am Kloot nonetheless.  "Your existence is burnt toast, that's the bit I love the most" - Insurrectionary big pop twitching with subterranean menace, and known to chisel out the odd pop gem with carefully aimed poise
