Here’s an album of raucous lo-fi new wave janglings and rough edged pop, from the fabulously named David Cronenberg’s Wife (she’s actually called Caroline Zeifman for the movie trivia fans out there). This album provides more of the bands typically underground, genre rattling guitar, bass and drum sounds. There are bright moments, slow songs and generally some really rock 'n roll / meets punk / meets mid-America / influenced Fender fuelled alt-indie. Previous single “My Best Friends Going Out With A Girl I Like” is suitably dark and overwhelmingly catchy and with “I’m On The Booze Mama” to see the listener off , matters really do end on an almost drunken high. The album just seems to get better as it progresses which is reason enough to at least pay them a visit at the nicely named Blang!
