From their black suits to their claustrophobic storm-cloud sound, they're a bit like Interpol if Interpol had actually lived in North West England and listened to as much Joy Division as everyone seemed to think they had. And it's with these flavours of dramatic bleakness that they attack Chris Isaac's "Wicked Game", bringing the bitterness and betrayal which simmered around the surface of the original right out to the front. Their own material is no less powerful as needle-sharp guitar lines slice across thundering rhythms; deep stirring basslines and David's arresting vocals. Having somehow failed to see them since their first ever gig I'm excited by just how much this band have developed in the short space of a few months into one of Manchester's most interesting prospects

Impressive collision of ambitiously grinding guitars and bass - Their suburban melodies chew up the ground with more than just a hint of northern 80's indie. It's an unwieldy name but This Is My Lawnmower are a band to get quite excited about…..
