THE SUNDAY INTERNATIONAL

Stockport’s finest; Sunday International
formed 2 years ago and wear their dysfunction as a badge of honour. Musically
they are equal parts Tortoise, My Bloody Valentine and Spacemen 3 using bleak
and minimal arrangements to gorgeous effect. Their first release for Future
Butterfly “So Calm” disguises a pop sensibility that puts them firmly in the
tradition of Mancunian pop legends. http://www.futurebutterfly.co.uk
HEROES OF SWITZERLAND

Music to bleed to indeed - though at a given volume assume it’s from the ears - and profusely so if the jaw locking noises are anything to go by. Heroes of Switzerland could have been filed under shoe gaze / dream pop in the long and dim past, a time when it was in fact an offence to openly admit the liking of shimmering celestially intoned starry eyed pop and an apparent crime punishable by the hanging of said patrons by their long floppy fringes
