head-bobbing grooves, strange time signatures and challenging lyrics. The band’s sound is a cross between Nirvana, The Beatles and Radiohead – with the odd look in by U2 and Jeff Buckley : Their record found its way onto Elbow’s tour bus, and was followed up by a phone call the next day. Elbow then introduced the band to Skinny Dog records, the Manchester label set up by Elbow and I am Kloot. The Distance have since been invited to appear with the two bands on a compilation album due to be released on the label later this year..”
